Product Description
MOTS-c (a mitochondrially encoded 16-amino-acid peptide) is an endogenous microprotein expressed during physical exertion and metabolic stress. In preclinical models, it activates AMPK, improves glucose uptake, fatty acid metabolism, and physical performance, while supporting “healthspan” parameters in aging animals.
A short peptide encoded within the mitochondrial 12S rRNA gene (sORF), which under stress translocates to the nucleus and regulates genes with ARE elements related to antioxidant and metabolic adaptation.
Its expression increases during physical exercise, and exogenous administration improves endurance in mouse models of different ages.
